October 2022 Newsletter
MESSAGE FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT:
Welcome back to a new school year. PTA is hopeful that all of our fun ideas will come to fruition.
All of our committees are looking for volunteers. Please consider joining a committee and volunteering your time. Some committees are only during a part of the year, some can be done after your child goes to bed, some really only need a few minutes. We need your help to continue to support the students of Southampton.
Our next general membership meeting is Monday, Nov 14.
Thank you
Janine Giancoli
FALL 2022 ~ FROM THE FACULTY
Our staff has hit the ground running this year with many new endeavors in the works. Amongst new curricula, our faculty and students have been extremely hard at work as usual. All fall sports, various clubs, Vincetones, Jazz Band, and Student Council have been in full swing! The community was invited to participate in Family Science and Family Math Nights. September and October also included our annual Week of Respect and School Violence Awareness Week.
Students came dressed in their best to the fall school dance and the Student Council planned a school-wide Pink Out Day! One of the most talked about events was the 6th Grade Environmental Trip to YMCA of the Pines where students participated in fun, team-building activities. We are looking forward to Halloween celebrations and our first Green and Gold Spirit Day!
As we continue to gear up for a busy holiday season, STEA would like to thank the faculty for their participation in the PTA. On behalf of the STEA, I would like to thank all Southampton staff for their hard work and commitment to our students and community.

RECREATION COMMITTEE
The annual fall pumpkin picking and corn maze event had a great turn out this year. The event sold over 200 tickets to Southampton families. The PTA was able to cover 1/3 of the price for each ticket. Look for more PTA sponsored recreation activities in the coming months. If you would like to help out the committee or have a suggestion for an activity/event, please contact southampton.pta.recreation@gmail.com.
PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE
Don't forget to download the Box Tops App on your mobile device! For this school year, the community has earned just under $200 for Southampton Twp Schools. First grade is in the lead with a collection of over 500 points. The first Box Top contest will run until December 9th. Please continue to scan your box tops into the app in order for your student or their class to receive points toward the contest. The classroom in each grade that collects the most box tops will win a classroom prize. At the end of the year, the student with the most box tops will win a grand prize.
